First personal project created during my free time, when not working or participating in environment art events.
.
My goal for this project was mainly to practice my ability in sculpting organic objects using Zbrush. As well as learning workflows in how to generate assets like materials outside of Substance Designer. I also took the opportunity to put into practice my skills in lighting, composition and level art.
.
Main influences to this level are based on an old Filipino folktale about Bakunawa, a sea dragon that ate moons. To drive away the dragon from eating the last moon is through sound. Whether its through loud clatters of noise to scare it off, or play music to put it to sleep.
.
Used a lot of South East Asian architecture designs like Indonesia and Cambodia for the shape, whilst combining details from old Visayan regions to create the look of this piece.
.
I would also like to thank these artists and their communities for their help and support
